A Journey of Experience and Excitement

Peris, alongside Jane Claxton, Kaitlin Nobbs, and Grace Stewart, will lead the Hockeyroos in their quest for Olympic glory. “It’s still sinking in,” Peris admits, reflecting on her selection. “I’ve loved every moment of this journey, and I have a really good feeling about this team.”

Confidence and Camaraderie

Peris is impressed by the team’s balance: “We have a solid mix of experience and fresh talent. The younger players bring so much flair to the game – it’s exciting!” She expresses her gratitude for being part of this team, united and ready to compete.

A Legacy of Achievement

The 31-year-old Peris is not only a seasoned Olympian but also the most capped Indigenous player in Australian hockey history. Reaching the prestigious 200-game milestone earlier this year solidified her remarkable career. The Hockeyroos’ official Instagram aptly describes her as a leader both “on and off the pitch.”

Family Pride Shines Through

Peris’ brother, Jonathan, shared the family’s immense pride with the NT News: “We can’t wait to watch her in Paris! Reaching her 200th game and now a third Olympics – these are unbelievable achievements.”

From Territory Junior to Olympic Champion?

Having represented Australia at the Rio and Tokyo Games, Peris also holds a Commonwealth Games silver medal. With her leadership, experience, and unwavering dedication, Brooke Peris sets her sights on another Olympic triumph with the Hockeyroos in Paris!
