    What is NICC?

    The National Indigenous Cultural Centre will primarily be focused on the preservation and promotion of Indigenous culture across Australia. It is anticipated that NICC will be culturally safe, designed to allow Indigenous and Non-Indigenous visitors to be immersed in real Indigenous experiences.

    THIS is going to be an ACT / Federal investment (enabling much of the following / so NICC is to be more digital in delivery and Walkabout will enable the physical delivery around Australia (at the Royal and Regional Shows / at fetes, festivals, events, celebrations – public and private (we have bush tucker, gift shops, tailored entertainment = what indigenous culture do you seek at your next event / function???…

    The National Indigenous Cultural Centre will primarily be focused on the preservation and promotion of Indigenous culture across Australia. It is anticipated that the space will be culturally safe, designed to allow Indigenous and Non-Indigenous visitors to be immersed into real Indigenous experiences.

    Cultural Tours
    An open park area planted with native flora with educational tours regarding the medicinal and nutritional properties of these plants.
    Art Galleries
    An art gallery with rotating exhibitions of Indigenous artists from across Australia.
    Research Facilities
    Research facilities – specifically for projects whose outcomes will significantly contribute to the Indigenous community.
    Classrooms
    Classrooms (of different sizes) for learning / teaching / discussing – also available for hire to conduct art, cooking and well-being classes.
    Commercial Hub
    Commercial Indigenous Hub – co-working space that provides Aboriginal businesses the opportunity to grow their global presence.

    • This open park area would also allow visitors to view demonstrations of Aboriginal building and hunting techniques (boomerang, spear making and throwing, eel traps) as well as traditional Aboriginal dance and games
    • An art gallery with rotating exhibitions of Indigenous artists from across Australia
    • Classrooms (of different sizes) for learning / teaching / discussing – also available for hire to conduct art, cooking and well-being classes
    • Theatres (of different sizes) to showcase Aboriginal films, music, poetry readings and theatre / dance, as well as conduct large cultural information sessions for schools
    • Research facilities – specifically for projects whose outcomes will significantly contribute to the Indigenous community
    • Retail space / cafes / restaurants & global e-commerce portal – showcasing Aboriginal products:- books / clothing / food…
    • Commercial Indigenous Hub – co-working space that provides Aboriginal businesses the opportunity to grow their global presence
    • Residential Space – low cost safe accommodation for Aboriginal students studying at Victorian schools and universities (this will also provide for staff and visiting performers
    • NICC must also have an ongoing international touring program enabling the world to see Indigenous art, theater, music, food, books, clothing…
