With a career spanning over two decades, Crombie is not only an accomplished singer and songwriter but also an actor, director, writer, and stand-up comedian. She gained recognition in the comedy scene after reaching the finals of Deadly Funny in 2018, captivating audiences with her relatable storytelling and everyday humor.

“I’m a storyteller comedian. I’m just up there having a yarn and just complaining about my kids,” Crombie humorously remarked, reflecting on her comedic style.

Joining forces with comedy greats like Andy Saunders, Janty Blair, Jay Wymarra, Kevin Kropinyeri, and Sean Choolburra, Crombie is poised to deliver unforgettable nights filled with laughter and captivating narratives.

Speaking about her co-stars, Crombie emphasized the familial bond they share, having known many of them for years. “I’ve known Kevin for a lot of years, personally, and Sean’s known me all of my life and has known my mum,” she said, highlighting the deep connections within the comedy ensemble.

Known for her relatable humor, Crombie expressed her joy in performing for Indigenous audiences, where she receives unwavering support. “Having mob in that crowd that know your jokes, it’s going to be 100% supportive,” she acknowledged.

Under the expert direction and production of Wes Snelling and assistant producer Kylan Ambrum, Crombie expressed pride in the growth and success of the comedy troupe. “For Kai (Kylan), I just see the sky as the limit for that lad to be a huge comedy producer,” she praised.

Reflecting on her journey into comedy, Crombie encouraged Indigenous individuals to explore their comedic talents, citing Deadly Funny as a pivotal platform for emerging Aboriginal comedians. “Deadly funny can’t take credit for every single comic, but they can definitely take credit for the majority of fellas that are out here now,” she affirmed.

Don’t miss Elaine Crombie’s performances at both the Melbourne Comedy Festival (27 March to 21 April) and the Brisbane Comedy Festival (2 May to 5 May), where she promises to bring her unique blend of humor and storytelling to the stage, leaving audiences in stitches.
