For Mitch Tambo, celebrated as one of Australia’s most electrifying First Nations entertainers, participating as a mentor is an opportunity to shape the future of Indigenous storytelling. He emphasizes the importance of creating spaces to identify and nurture talent, highlighting storytelling as a vital aspect of Indigenous culture.

Façon Magazine’s founder and editor-in-chief, Lara Lupish, expresses excitement about the program’s new cohort of mentors, recognizing their immense contributions to the creative landscape. Similarly, Emma Brokate, Chief Distribution Officer of Greater Bank, underscores the value of mentorship in guiding aspiring creatives towards success.

The Indigenous Storytellers Scholarship aims to provide a platform for Indigenous voices and creativity. Supported by Greater Bank, the program will award one recipient with a $10,000 grant to support their creative endeavors. Additionally, all nine finalists will receive mentorship tailored to their specific fields, further enhancing their growth and impact.

Applications for the scholarship are open to Indigenous individuals residing in NSW until April 18, 2024. The recipient will be announced on July 11, during NAIDOC Week, celebrating Indigenous culture, history, and achievements.

The Indigenous Storytellers Scholarship continues to revolutionize the creative landscape by spotlighting Indigenous talent and providing opportunities for growth and recognition.
