ROM Welcomes First Hatch Curator of Indigenous Art & Culture

TORONTO, May 14, 2024 – The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) has appointed Rhéanne Chartrand as its inaugural Hatch Curator of Indigenous Art & Culture, underscoring the museum’s commitment to reconciliation and inclusivity. ROM Welcomes First Hatch Curator of Indigenous Art & Culture

Chartrand, a Métis curator with over a decade of experience, will lead the stewardship and exhibition of Indigenous collections, develop educational programs, and work on the repatriation of ancestral belongings. This position was created with support from Hatch and the Louise Hawley Stone Charitable Trust. Chartrand previously curated at the McMaster Museum of Art and other institutions.
