Celebrating the Innovation of Australia’s First Nations Peoples in Fashion and Textiles

The National Indigenous Fashion Awards (NIFA) have been a vibrant and prestigious platform since their launch in 2020. This event celebrates the creativity, diversity, and ethical practices of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists and fashion designers, contributing to the growth and empowerment of the sector.

The National Indigenous Fashion Awards (NIFA) are presented by the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair Foundation’s Indigenous Fashion Projects, with support from the Northern Territory Government through the Northern Territory Major Events Company. The awards offer a unique opportunity for both local and international fashion communities to connect with the world’s oldest living cultures and highlight excellence across six categories.
